Apple Today - 10/22/2015 (AAPL)

seymour_greenz • October 22nd 2015 09:32:03 AM

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 25 with +22 Fair Value, Dow Futures are up 84 in another earnings extravaganza day. Asian markets were mixed today with China closing up 1.45%, while both Hong Kong and Japan ended down -0.63% and -0.64%, respectively. European markets, UK, Germany and France, are all currently ranging from flat to up with Germany up nearly 1% while France is slightly green and UK is flat. Oil is up between 1%-2%, natural gas is slightly down and gold is just above break-even in pre-market trading. ECB keeps rates steady. The Ferrari (RACE) IPO really took off yesterday, with the newly minted stock hitting a high of nearly $61 or around 17% above the $52/share IPO price before selling off to close its first trading session at $55. American Express (AXP) reported earnings yesterday and is currently down over 3% on lower profit. On the other hand, eBay (EBAY) is currently up over 9% this morning on strong quarterly results. Earnings is reaching its peak crescendo with market titans Alphabet (GOOGL), Microsoft (MSFT) and Amazon (AMZN) reporting after the bell this afternoon.

AAPL had a mountain of a day yesterday, opening at 114 and scraping as high as 114.5 within 20 minutes on relatively high volume before taking a breather on moderate volume 30 minutes later at just under 114. By noontime, AAPL breached 115 and just over 30 minutes AAPL summited above 115.5 on relatively high volume. The afternoon was not quite as kind with AAPL losing a point and selling down to 114.5 by 2pm on moderate volume, attempting to bounce from there but ultimately losing the battle and dropping below 114 where the journey began. AAPL ended the intra-day session at 113.76. Quite a ride. After-hours was uneventful with AAPL eventually losing 7 cents to 113.69.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened at 113.83 on low volume and again quickly gravitated towards 114 and hovered there until later in pre-market where some volume has stepped in bringing AAPL up to 114.3 by 8:10am and then bouncing off of 114 again to grasp at 114.5 at 8:56am on high volume. AAPL is currently up 65 cents at 114.41.

Classic max-pain is 112.
