seymour_greenz • October 29th 2015 09:35:23 AM

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 28 with -23 Fair Value, Dow Futures are down 72 as we continue with earnings season. Asian markets closed mixed, with China gaining 0.36%, Japan up 0.17% and Hong Kong down 0.60%. European markets are universally lower today with UK currently down 1%, France down nearly as much and Germany down 0.5%. Oil is down 1% in pre-market while natural gas seems to be bucking it's recent slump and is up nearly 2%. Gold, on the other hand, is down nearly 2%. The US economy grows 1.5% in Q3 as US jobless claims rise. Apple's earnings seem to have impressed and AAPL shares catapulted ahead to close over 119, though there are some lingering concerns over guidance. GoPro (GPRO) reported an earnings miss yesterday and shares got crushed, it's currently down 18% in pre-market. Keep an eye out for earnings for coffee mega-chain Starbucks (SBUX), video game developer Electronic Arts (EA), and the twin solar companies First Solar (FSLR) and SolarCity (SCTY) which are expected this afternoon, among others.

AAPL opened strong yesterday and finished stronger, all on very high volume. AAPL opened yesterday at 116.99 on strong volume, took a brief dip to 116.06 at 10:26am on high volume and recovered to 118 as lunch was wrapping up. AAPL seemed to struggle in early afternoon trading, but when 3pm rolled around AAPL staged a mini-rally straight to 119.30 at 3:40pm and closed the intra-day post-earnings session at 119.27. In after-hours, AAPL lost 22 cents to close at 119.05.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower in conjunction with Futures and has been trading in a narrow mid-118 range all morning with a glimmer of pep as we approach the open. AAPL is currently down 62 cents at 118.65.
