Apple Today - 11/18/2015 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 10 with +15 Fair Value, Dow Futures are up 25 on a busy day of upcoming economic data, including Fed minutes at 2pm.

Asian markets were mostly down today. China closed down the most at 1.01%, Hong Kong was down 0.34% and Japan ended slightly green at 0.09%. European markets are currently lower today with France down the most at 0.75%, Germany down 0.22% and the UK just under flat at 0.06%. Commodities are currently mostly up in pre-market. Oil is up just under 1%, natural gas is up around 0.25% and gold is the odd commodity out today, down over 0.1%. Jack In The Box (JACK) announced impressive profits yesterday and is up nearly 3.5%, La-Z-Boy (LZB) was initially up after announcing Q2 profits, but dropped to even on a revenue miss. Morning earnings are rolling in: Lowe's (LOW) is up 2% on a beat, Staples (SPLS) is down nearly 4% on a sales miss, and Target (TGT) was initially up sharply but reversed and is now down around 1%. This afternoon after the bell earnings from salesforce.com (CRM), Keurig Green Mountain (GMCR), NetApp (NTAP) and Weibo Corporation (WB) are expected. Tomorrow morning, look out for earnings scheduled for Best Buy (BBY) and JinkoSolar Holding (JKS).

AAPL opened up higher yesterday but eventually sunk as low as 113.32 and closed down 49 cents or 0.42%, up slightly from the day's low at 113.69. AAPL sold off quickly after the opening bell, going from green to red in less than 30 minutes and dipping to 113.7 by 10:18am on moderate volume. Bouncing back, AAPL turned green again but wasn't able to recapture the 115 and make a new high for the day. Subsequently, AAPL dropped back down to 114 and struggled to remain green in early afternoon trading, oscillating back and forth in the low-114 range. After 2pm, AAPL broke down below 114 and dipped to 113.32 before recovering a bit to close the intra-day session at 113.69. AAPL traded in a narrow range in after-hours and ultimately added 4 cents to 113.73.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up significantly and gained nearly 2 points on Goldman Sachs adding Apple as a "conviction buy". AAPL spend most of the morning in pre-market in the upper-114 range on moderate volume until 7am when AAPL made a strong move up to the 115.5 area on high volume and has hit a high as we approach the open. AAPL is currently up 2.04 to 115.73.
