Apple Today - 12/24/2015 Xmas (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 6 with -4 Fair Value, Dow Futures are up 16 on this short yet busy day of economic data before Christmas. Not a creature was stirring, not even the Futures, which are quite flat and calm this morning.

Asian markets closed mixed. China was down 0.65%, Hong Kong was up 0.44% and Japan lost 0.51%. European markets are mostly up with Germany currently in the lead, up 2.28%. UK is up 0.22%and France is down 0.28%.

Commodities are mostly up again this morning. Oil is currently up 0.29%, natural gas is up 2.92% and gold is up 0.41%. Unleaded gas is up 0.85%. Energy is mostly in the green, except heating oil, and metals are mixed. Silver and copper are down while platinum is up. Meat, soybeans, wheat and meat are also up while corn is down slightly.

Oil is above $37 as US supply tightens, but still near 11-year low.

Producer and marketer of shell eggs Cal-Maine Foods (CALM) is down over 5% in pre-market trading after reporting earnings yesterday afternoon.

AAPL had a relatively bright day yesterday, ending up 1.29%. AAPL opened green and never looked back, dashing up above 108 on relatively high volume for such a quiet week and briefly bursting above 108.5 to 108.6 by 10:04am on high volume. The rest of the day AAPL was confidently hanging on to the mid-108 area and made another break towards 109. peaking at 108.85 at 12:28pm on moderate volume. Despite a subsequent rounded bottom afternoon swoop down to the lower-108 area on light volume, AAPL managed to re-gain the 108.5 and closed up 1.38 at 108.61. After-hours brought in an additional 6 cents to close at 108.67 along with a strange rogue spike up to 110.2 at 4:52pm on relatively high volume.

This morning in pre-market, things are pretty quiet for AAPL. AAPL has been trading on extremely low volume in a narrow range as low as 108.42 and as high as 108.90. AAPL is currently up 19 cents at 108.81.


Classic max-pain is 109. The markets close at 1pm today.
