Apple Today - 1/25/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 13 with -16 Fair Value, Dow Futures are down 51 to start off the last week of January 2016. Futures were slightly green early morning and worsened after 2am though off the 4am lows.

Asian markets closed up today. China gained 0.75%, Hong Kong was up 1.36% and Japan up 0.90%. European markets are down today. The UK is currently down 0.34%, Germany is down 0.36% and France is down 0.43%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 3.45%, natural gas is down 1.12% and gold is up 0.84%. Unleaded gas is down 1.28% and heating oil is down 2.04%. Metals are up. Meat is up. Cotton and wheat are up. Cocoa, coffee, corn, soybeans are down.

The price of oil is dropping again, putting pressure on Futures and European markets.

Earnings season really heats up this week. This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from Crane (CR) and Rambus (RMBS). Tomorrow before the open, Coach (COH), DuPont (DD), Corning (GLW), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Janus Capital Group (JNS), Lockheed Martin (LMT), 3M (MMM), The Procter & Gamble Company (PG) and Sprint (S) are expected to report.


AAPL had a solid bounce of a week, ending up 3.58% with an "over the moon" day on Friday, up 5.32% on OPEX. AAPL started the short week out at 98 on Tuesday and dipped below 94 early Wednesday only to bounce back quickly to 98 before heading towards the 96-range on Thursday. Friday sparked a rally where AAPL gapped up 2 points on high volume, siezed 100 and kept going past 101, up a total of 5.12 to 101.42. AAPL continued to gain in after-hours, up 56 more cents to 101.98.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up near where intra-day left off on Friday and gravitated towards 102 in the early morning before eventually descending towards 101 under the pressure of worsening Futures.AAPL is currently down 42 cents at 101.
