Apple Today - 1/28/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 23 with +30 Fair Value, Dow Futures are up 3 on a busy Thursday filled with the Fed, economic data and earnings. Futures hit a peak early this morning around 3am and have been declining as we approach the open.

Asian markets closed mostly down today. China dropped 2.92%, Japan lost 0.71% and Hong Kong gained 0.73%. European markets are down today. The UK is currently down 0.85%, Germany is down 1.78% and France is down 0.97%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 1.83%, natural gas is down 1.81% and gold is up 0.27%. Unleaded gas is up 3.84% and heating oil is up 1.84%. Metals are down, except gold. Meat is up. Cocoa is up while coffee, cotton, corn, soybeans and wheat are down.

Jobless claims fall more than expected after holidays, while orders for US business equipment drop by most in 10 months.

Facebook (FB) is up over 14% after reporting strong Q4 earnings yesterday afternoon. On the other hand, eBay (EBAY) is down nearly 12% on flat revenue and a disappointing outlook. SanDisk Corporation (SNDK) is up nearly 3% in pre-market on Q4 earnings and revenue beats. Alibaba (BABA) reported a well received 100% increase in profit this morning and the stock is currently up over 4% in pre-market.

This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from Amgen (AMGN), Amazon.com (AMZN), Electronic Arts (EA), Microsoft (MSFT), NetSuite (N), Skyworks Solutions (SWKS), Visa (V) and Western Digital (WDC).

Tomorrow before the open, American Airlines (AAL), Colgate-Palmolive (CL), Chevron (CVX), Honeywell International (HON), MasterCard (MA), Sony (SNE), Seagate Technology (STX) and Xerox (XRX) are expected to report.

The day after reporting record earnings of $18.4 billion, AAPL dropped 6.57%. AAPL opened the day down at 96.03 on incredible volume and quickly dropped towards 94 on high volume, bouncing at 11:26am to recover 96 at 12:16pm, briefly matching the opening price, also on high volume. AAPL slipped back from 96 and the rest of the day AAPL declined harshly into the close on moderately high volume. AAPL ended the day down 6.57 at 93.42. AAPL gained 44 cents in after-hours to close at 93.86.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up higher at 94.7 in conjunction with Futures and drifted back down to 94 on relatively high volume, bouncing at 93.42 at 8:55am on high volume back towards 94. AAPL is currently up 53 cents at 93.97 as we approach the open.
