Apple Today - 2/09/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

Again? NASDAQ Futures are down 38 with -29 Fair Value, S&P Futures are down 16 with -12 Fair Value and Dow Futures are down 136 on this continued rough start of the 2nd week of February as we await to hear upcoming economic data and from Yellen on Wednesday and Thursday. Futures were down heavily last night and early this morning, then spiked briefly into green near 4am, then sunk back again after 6am.

China and Hong Kong are still closed for Chinese New Year, but that didn't stop Japan from crashing down 5.4%. European markets are down sharply again today. The UK is currently down 1.17%, Germany is down 1.59% and France is leading the decline, down 2.22%.

Commodities are mostly down this morning. Oil is up 0.67%, natural gas is down 1.96% and gold is down 0.19%. Unleaded gas is down 2.29% and heating oil is down 0.91%. Metals are down except platinum. Meat is mostly down. Wheat is up while cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn and soybeans are down.

Global stocks hit the rocks with an unprecedented 7th day European stock rout, oil prices ease.

Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. (FOXA) is down nearly 4% in pre-market after reporting earnings in-line but a revenue miss yesterday afternoon. Yelp (YELP) is also down over 4% after reporting a loss yesterday afternoon. GigOptix, Inc. (GIG) is down nearly 6% after reporting in-line Q4 earnings and weak 2016 guidance.

CVS Health Corporation (CVS) reported this morning and is down nearly 2% after meeting Q4 profit forecasts and confirming 2016 outlook. The Coca-Cola Company (KO) is flat after beating earnings estimates. Finally, in a sea of red, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (GT) reported a Q4 loss this morning and is up 2.5%.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Akamai Technologies, Inc. (AKAM), The Walt Disney Company (DIS), The First Marblehead Corporation (FMD), Limelight Networks, Inc. (LLNW), Mad Catz Interactive, Inc (MCZ), Nuance Communications, Inc. (NUAN), Overstock.com, Inc. (OSTK), Panera Bread Company (PNRA), SolarCity Corp. (SCTY), Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. (SKT), Tucows Inc (TCX) and The Western Union Company (WU).

Tomorrow before the bell, ARM Holdings, plc (ARMH), Henry Schein, Inc. (HSIC), Owens Corning (OC), Sealed Air Corporation (SEE), Time Warner Inc. (TWX), Voya Financial, Inc. (VOYA) and Wix.com (WIX) are expected to report.

AAPL had a bouncy day yesterday with much of the day spent bobbin' at the water line before popping up in the last hour to end up 1.05%. AAPL opened at 93.07 to relatively high volume, put in the day's low of 93.04 immediately and managed to tag 94.7 on moderate volume shortly at 10:04am before falling back to wrestle again with 94. After another strike at 94.7 at 12:26pm on lower volume and then testing the mid-93 area after 2pm, AAPL quickly leapt up hit to 95.70 at 3:48pm before settling back down to 95 for the close. AAPL ended intra-day up 99 cents at 95.01. AAPL dropped an additional 36 cents to 94.65 in after-hours.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up slightly below yesterday's intra-day close and declined with Futures. AAPL has been holding on to a narrow range in the lower-94 area all morning. AAPL is currently down 86 cents at 94.15 as we approach the open.
