Apple Today - 2/11/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 72 with -66 Fair Value (rare), S&P Futures are down 31 with -32 Fair Value (rare) and Dow Futures are down 263 on the 2nd day of Janet Yellen's Fed testimony and more clues on the future of interest rates. Futures took a huge hit after 3am and have remained depressed, though select stocks are seeing a bit of relief as we approach the open.

Japan and China are closed for the holiday, Hong Kong is down 3.85%. European markets are down significantly today. The UK is currently down 2.14%, Germany is down 2.50% and France is leading the decline, down 3.65%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 3.1%, natural gas is up 0.44% and gold is up 3.72%. Unleaded gas is down 1.23% and heating oil is down 1.03%. Metals are up except copper. Meat is mostly up. Corn, wheat and soybeans and up while cocoa, cotton and coffee are down.

Yellen says Fed not likely to reverse course on rates, despite risks. Oil falls on US supply record and weak demand outlook. Jobless claims in US decline to lowest level in 7 weeks.

Tesla Motors (TSLA) announced earnings yesterday and is up nearly 6% in pre-market. Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) reported yesterday and is up nearly 7%. Also reporting yesterday, Expedia, Inc. (EXPE) is up over 11%. On the other hand, Twitter, Inc. (TWTR) announced a loss of users yesterday and is down 7%. Whole Foods Market, Inc. (WFM) is about flat after reporting yesterday and Zynga (ZNGA) is down over 13% after earnings yesterday.

Nokia Corporation (NOK) is up nearly 3% after reporting this morning, PepsiCo Inc. (PEP) is down nearly 1% this morning and TripAdvisor Inc. (TRIP) is up over 10%.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from American International Group Inc (AIG), Activision Blizzard, Inc (ATVI), CBS Corporation (CBS), Columbia Sportswear Company (COLM), Cray Inc (CRAY), Dun & Bradstreet Corp. (DNB), FireEye, Inc. (FEYE), Groupon, Inc. (GRPN), MoneyGram International, Inc. (MGI), Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS), Pandora Media (P), Rovi Corporation (ROVI), VeriSign, Inc. (VRSN), Web.com Group, Inc (WEB) and Zillow Group, Inc. (Z).

Tomorrow before the bell, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. (RRGB) and Ruth's Hospitality Group, Inc. (RUTH) are expected to report.

AAPL had a strong initial showing but "compressed" down all day, ending down 0.76%. AAPL opened at 95.91 to moderate volume, battled at the 96-line and then hit a peak of 96.35 at 10:34am on relatively high volume. After hitting that intra-day high, AAPL sold off towards 95 and spent most of the afternoon in the mid to low 95 area on relatively low volume. After 3pm, AAPL sold off again on moderate volume and threatened to break into the 93-area before bouncing slightly to end the intra-day down 72 cents at 94.27. AAPL lost the change in after-hours bringing it down to an even 94.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up a point lower in conjunction with sour Futures and saw a shocking low of 92.02 at 4:56am. Since, AAPL has relatively improved significantly and has not only recovered 93 but is clawing back mid-93 territory. AAPL is currently down 94 cents at 93.33 as we approach the open.
