Apple Today - 2/12/2016 OPEX (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 29 with +33 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 14 with +14 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 106 as we bring this 2nd week in February to an OPEX close. Futures have been gaining steam throughout the morning and a positive open looks likely.

China remains closed for the holiday, Hong Kong is down 1.22% and Japan is down 4.84%. European markets are up strong today. The UK is currently leading the region up 1.72%, Germany is up 1.41% and France is down 1.05%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 4.65%, natural gas is up 0.30% and gold is down 0.52%. Unleaded gas is up 5.11% and heating oil is up 3.83%. Metals are down except copper. Meat is mixed. Wheat, cocoa and coffee are up while corn, soybeans and cotton are down.

US retail sales increased in January. Oil prices jump but excess supply still looms.

FireEye, Inc. (FEYE) is up nearly 2% after reporting mixed Q4 results yesterday afternoon after the bell. Groupon, Inc. (GRPN) soared up over 20% on a beat, buyback and improved guidance. Pandora Media (P) is also up over 3% after reporting yesterday. On the other hand, Zillow Group, Inc. (Z) is down nearly 5% after reporting a loss and Activision Blizzard, Inc (ATVI) is down over 5% on unimpressive holiday sales. American International Group Inc (AIG) is up nearly 2% after reporting a deal with Icahn, buyback and a dividend increase.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. (RRGB) reported Q4 earnings this morning before the bell and is up nearly 5%.

AAPL had a rough day yesterday, fighting hard to stay above 93 and ended the day down 0.60%. AAPL opened at 93.79 to high volume and briefly saw green, peaking at 94.72 on relatively high volume near 10am, then sunk down quickly to 93 by 10:45am, hitting a low of 92.59 at 11:36am on moderate volume. AAPL bounced back to the mid-93 area in early afternoon trading only to break 93 once again just after 2:30pm. Following that, AAPL rapidly rocketed up back to 94 on moderate volume and hung around the lower-94 and upper-93 area until close. AAPL ended the day down 57 cents at 93.7. AAPL lost an additional 15 cents after-hours to close at 93.55.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up in conjunction with Futures and gravitated towards 94.5 with a high of 94.75 at 6:58am. Approaching the open, AAPL has settled back to the mid-94 area, testinging lower-94 periodically. AAPL is currently up 68 cents at 94.38 as we approach the open.
