Apple Today - 2/26/2016 OPEX (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 24 with +28 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 8 with +10 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 75 on this final OPEX Friday in February. Futures were looking flat today until 2am when a 3 hour rally began, peaking at 5am and partially sliding back down but remaining green.

Asian markets closed up today. China gained 0.95%, Japan gained 0.3% and Hong Kong led the advance up 2.52%. European markets are up strong again today. The UK is currently up 1.18%, Germany is up 1.64% and France is up 1.5%.

Commodities are mostly up this morning. Oil is up 1.66%, natural gas is down 0.22% and gold is down 0.31%. Unleaded gas is up 0.82% and heating oil is up 1.27%. Metals are down except copper. Meat is mostly up. Cocoa, coffee, corn, wheat and soybeans are up while cotton is down.

Futures rise as G20 meeting in focus. US economy grew at 1% rate in Q4.

Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) is up over 11% this morning after reporting earnings yesterday afternoon with a Q4 beat and a Q1 guidance miss. Herbalife Ltd. (HLF) also announced earnings yesterday and is in resolution discussion with FTC and is up nearly 12%. On the other hand, Weight Watchers International, Inc. (WTW) is down over 28% on an earnings miss.

J.C. Penney Company Inc. (JCP) reported increased revenue, beating Q4 expectations and is up nearly 15%. Foot Locker, Inc. (FL) also announced earnings with a 12% increase in profits and is up nearly 2%.

On Monday before the bell, ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ACAD), Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (HTZ), NRG Energy, Inc. (NRG) and Tribune Media Company (TRCO) are expected to report.

AAPL's turnaround continued yesterday, showing a foundation of strength and ending the day up 0.69% on very low overall volume. AAPL opened at 96.16 to moderate volume and quickly dipped to a low of 95.25 on moderate volume before bouncing back to peak in the green at 10:54am on lower volume. AAPL then settled in the upper-95 area in early afternoon before turning green again and turning up to peak at 96.76 at the close, up 66 cents for the day. AAPL dropped 14 cents in after-hours trading to 96.62.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher in conjunction with Futures and crossed the 97.5 line early to peak at 97.63 at 5:04am. Soon after, AAPL settled back down towards 97 and is bouncing into the lower-97 area. AAPL is currently up 51 cents at 97.27 as we approach the open.
