Apple Today - 3/04/2016 OPEX (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 20 with +16 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 7 with +5 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 56 on this first OPEX Friday of March as the awaited jobs report rolls in. Futures were undecided early this morning and turned positive after 6am and catapulted up after the jobs numbers were released at 8:30am.

Asian markets closed up today. China gained 0.5%, Hong Kong added 1.18% and Japan ended up 0.32%. European markets are rallying today. The UK is currently up 1.08%, Germany is up 1.37% and France is up 0.76%.

Commodities are mostly up this morning. Oil is up 1.07%, natural gas is down 1.34% and gold is up 0.2%. Unleaded gas is up 0.63% and heating oil is up 1.01%. Metals are up. Meat is mixed. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are all up.

US economy adds 242,000 jobs, unemployment at 4.9%. Mortgage rates move higher.

Ambarella (AMBA) reported earnings yesterday afternoon and is down 8% on lower than expected guidance. H&R Block Inc. (HRB) also announced earnings yesterday with a larger than expected loss and is down over 11%.

This afternoon after the bell, look for a rare Friday afternoon earnings report from Roka Bioscience (ROKA).

AAPL continued on its masterpiece run yesterday, ending in shades of green and up 0.74%. AAPL opened down at 100.59 on moderately high volume and soon launched up above 101 on moderate volume, peaking at 101.71 at 10:07am on moderate volume. During the afternoon AAPL dipped below 101 where it remained for a couple of hours on low volume until it made a break for 101 again toward the upper-100 area after 1:30pm on moderate volume. AAPL continued painting green lines for the rest of the afternoon, regaining the mid-101 area as 3pm arrived. After nearing the day's high at 3:36pm on relatively light volume, AAPL dipped slightly to close intra-day up 75 cents at an even 101.5. AAPL continued on in after-hours and gained an additional 35 to end at 101.85.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL picked up from yesterday's intra-day close and broke 102 before the jobs report, then sold off before the report and rallied as high as 102.49 after the report. AAPL is currently up 52 cents at 102.02 as we approach the open.
