Apple Today - 3/09/2016 (AAPL)

seymour_greenz • March 9th 2016 09:27:40 AM

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 18 with 24 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 8 with 11 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 73 on this 7-year bull market run "birthday". Futures have been celebrating all morning, reaching a peak at 7:14am.

Asian markets declined today. China dropped 1.34%, Hong Kong slipped 0.08% and Japan dropped 0.84%. On the other hand, European markets are rallying today. The UK is currently up 0.7%, France is up 1.22% and Germany is leading the advance, up 1.26%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 1.67%, natural gas is up 1.29% and gold is down 0.63%. Unleaded gas is up 2.62% and heating oil is up 1.81%. Metals are down except copper. Meat is mostly up. Cocoa, coffee and soybeans are up while corn, wheat and cotton are lower.

China weighs on global markets. US bull market celebrates its 7th birthday. Gundlach says S&P now has 2% upside, 20% downside.

Yesterday afternoon, Imation Corporation (IMN) reported a Q4 loss but beats estimates and has had no reaction as of yet. U.S. Auto Parts Network, Inc. (PRTS) also announced a Q4 loss and is unchanged. This is not atypical of such low-volume stocks.

Express, Inc. (EXPR) reported Q4 earnings this morning that topped estimates by 2 cents and is up nearly 7% in pre-market.

This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from Box (BOX) and FuelCell Energy, Inc. (FCEL).

Tomorrow, Dollar General Corporation (DG) and Plug Power, Inc. (PLUG) are expected to report.

AAPL "wound up" with a down day by 0.82% on low volume, hopefully storing some potential energy to be released "later on". Soured by Futures, AAPL opened down at 100.78 on moderate volume and at first struggled in the upper-100 area with a dip to 100.4 at 9:46am on moderate volume before recapturing 101 shortly after 11am and continuing on to the mid-101 area by lunchtime. Failing to turn green for the day and with a brief surge to 101.76 at 12:24pm on low volume, AAPL dipped back to 101 later in the afternoon just before 3pm and then climbed back up to 101.5 in the last hour only to dip rapidly in the last 10 minutes below 101. AAPL ended the intra-day session down 84 cents at 101.03. AAPL gained a penny in after-hours to 101.04.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher at 101.5 in conjunction with Futures and made a good attempt at the upper-101 area later in the morning hitting a peak of 101.93 at 7:15am before settling slightly. AAPL is currently up 53 cents at 101.56 as we approach the open.

Classic max-pain is 100.
