Apple Today - 3/10/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 42 with 44 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 17 with 17 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 127 on this March Thursday busy with economic data and ECB policy announcement. Futures were already solid green this morning and launched up at 7:45am when the ECB announced further stimulus.

Asian markets closed mixed today. China dropped 2.02%, Hong Kong slipped 0.06% and Japan gained 1.26%. European markets are rallying on the ECB announcement today. The UK is currently up 0.58%, Germany is up 2.47% and France is leading the advance, up 2.59%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 0.1%, natural gas is up 1.26% and gold is down 0.46%. Unleaded gas is down 0.57% and heating oil is down 0.5%. Metals are down. Meat is mixed. Cocoa and coffee are up while cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are down.

ECB cuts rates, increases assets buys more than expected. Futures rally after ECB surprises with stimulus moves. US jobless claims hit five-month low.

Yesterday afternoon, Box (BOX) reported Q4 earnings beating estimates and is up over 16% in pre-market. On the other hand, FuelCell Energy, Inc. (FCEL) is down over 8% after announcing a Q1 $0.13 earnings miss yesterday.

Dollar General Corporation (DG) reported Q4 earnings that topped forecasts and a dividend increase this morning and is up over 5%. Plug Power, Inc. (PLUG) is also up over 11% after reporting a Q4 revenue beat this morning.

This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from Cumulus Media Inc. (CMLS), El Pollo Loco Holdings (LOCO) and VeriFone Systems, Inc. (PAY).

Tomorrow, Kirkland's, Inc. (KIRK) is expected to report.

AAPL seemed "quietly mysterious" yesterday, hugging the 101 line and closing up 0.09% on extremely low volume. AAPL opened up at 101.34 to moderate volume and took a quick dip to 100.27 at 9:54am on moderate volume before bouncing back to the comfort of 101 where it remained for the rest of the day on very low volume, occasionally straying into the upper-100 area and the lower-101 area. AAPL ended the intra-day session up 9 cents at 101.12 and gained 6 more cents in after-hours to 101.18.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher in conjunction with Futures and made a break for 102 on relatively high volume after the ECB announced. So far, the 102-area is holding up as we approach the open. AAPL is currently up 86 cents at 101.98.
