Apple Today - 4/13/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 31 with +33 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 10 with +11 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 85 as we hit mid-week. Futures saw a touch of weakness at 3am but are up strong since then on optimistic Chinese trade data and are near the highs as we await the open.

Asian markets closed up strong today. China went up 1.42%, Japan gained 2.84% and Hong Kong led the advance, up 1.13%. European markets are rallying today. The UK is currently up 1.5%, Germany is up 2.25% and France is leading the advance, up 2.63%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 1.4%, natural gas is up 1.55% and gold is down 1.28%. Unleaded gas is down 1.26% and heating oil is down 0.49%. Metals are mostly down except copper. Meat is down. Cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are up, while cocoa and coffee are down.

Stocks jump on China trade surprise, buoyant banks. US retail sales unexpectedly fall as consumers "penny pinch". US producer prices fall on weak services costs. OPEC cuts 2016 oil demand growth forecast, warns of more. US banking agencies reject "living wills" from 5 big banks.

CSX Corporation (CSX) reported Q1 earnings yesterday afternoon beating profit forecasts and is currently up nearly 0.5%.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) announced Q1 earnings this morning with income falling 6.7% but beating estimates and is up nearly 2.5% in pre-market.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Pier 1 Imports Inc. (PIR).

Tomorrow morning, Bank of America Corporation (BAC), BlackRock, Inc. (BLK), Burberry Group Plc ADR (BURBY), Delta Air Lines, Inc. (DAL), First Republic Bank (FRC), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (TSM), Unilever Plc (UL) and Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) are expected to report.

The shiny AAPL carousel took another spin around 110 yesterday with AAPL gaining 1.30% on light volume. AAPL opened at 109.45 to high volume and reached a momentary peak of 110 at 9:38am on moderate volume before taking a quick dip below 109 on moderate volume to set an intra-day low of 108.66 at 10:24am on low volume. Afterwards AAPL just as quickly recovered back to 110 within an hour and went further up in afternoon trading to set a new intra-day high of 110.5 at 3:11pm on mild volume. AAPL ended the day near the high, up 1.42 at 110.44. AAPL gained an additional 2 cents in after-hours to 110.46.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up in conjunction with Futures and gravitated to the 111 area with a high of 111.25 at 7:04am on moderately low volume. AAPL is currently up 51 cents at 110.95 as we approach the open.
