Apple Today - 4/25/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 14 with -14 Fair Value, S&P Futures are down 6 with -5 Fair Value and Dow Futures are down 49 as we start off a new earnings bonanza week with a FOMC meeting and the Fed making a mid-week appearance. Futures were slightly down early this morning and took a big dip after 3am only to recover by 4am. Though off the lows, Futures have slipped again as we await the open.

Asian markets closed down today. China lost 0.42%, Hong Kong dropped 0.76% and Japan declined 0.76%. European markets are also down today. The UK is currently down 0.7%, Germany is down 0.92% and France is down 0.78%.

Commodities are mostly down this morning. Oil is down 0.85%, natural gas is down 1.45% and gold is up 0.59%. Unleaded gas is down 0.91% and heating oil is down 0.46%. Metals are mostly up except copper. Meat is down. Corn is up while cocoa, coffee, cotton, wheat and soybeans are all down.

US index Futures fluctuate with oil after stocks' weekly gain. Global stocks, dollar stumble ahead of Fed, BOJ meetings. Gold holds decline as market eyes Fed, BOJ meetings this week.

Xerox Corporation (XRX) reported Q1 earnings this morning missing forecasts with a 4.2% drop in revenue and is currently down over 3% in pre-market.

This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from American Capital Agency Corp. (AGNC), Express Scripts, Inc. (ESRX) and The Container Store Group, Inc. (TCS).

Tomorrow morning, Bloomin' Brands (BLMN), T-Mobile US, Inc. (TMUS), Thomson Reuters Corporation (TRI), Spirit Airlines (SAVE), Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (WYN), Coach, Inc. (COH), 1-800 FLOWERS.COM, Inc. (FLWS), Corning Inc. (GLW), The Hershey Company (HSY), JetBlue Airways Corporation (JBLU), Janus Capital Group Inc. (JNS), Lockheed Martin (LMT), 3M Company (MMM) and The Procter & Gamble Company (PG) are expected to report.

AAPL had a rough week, sliding down 3.8% on moderate volume. On Monday, the AAPL bear continued on and took AAPL further down from a close near 110 the previous week to below 108. On Tuesday AAPL struggled to get back up the 108 hill, eventually sliding below 107. Despite an early morning dip, AAPL sprang back to 108 on Wednesday to end above 107. AAPL had a particularly cloudy Thursday, losing 107 and struggling to hold 106. AAPL opened at 105.01 on Friday to moderate volume and made a quick dash back up to 106 and set an intra-day high of 106.48 shortly after at 10am on relatively high volume. Afterwards, AAPL sold off rapidly on moderate volume and broke 105 in just over an hour. Despite a small bounce to the lower-105 area, AAPL continued to drop to a low of 104.62 on lower volume before a mild volume turnaround kicked in at 1:30pm that lasted the rest of the afternoon and took AAPL back to the mid-105 area. AAPL ended the OPEX day down 29 cents at 105.68. AAPL gained 2 cents in after-hours to end at 105.7.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower in the low-105 area conjunction with Futures and dipped below 105 later in the morning only to bounce and struggle in the low-105 area. AAPL is currently down 60 cents at 105.08 as we approach the open.


Classic max-pain is 110.
