Apple Today - 5/23/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

Welcome back. NASDAQ Futures are up 4 with +6 Fair Value, S&P Futures are down 1 with flat Fair Value and Dow Futures are down 7 as we kick off the last full week of May. Futures have been flipping between green and red this morning and are slightly down as we await the open.

Asian markets ended mostly down today. China gained 0.64%, Hong Kong lost 0.22% and Japan went dropped 0.49%. European markets are down today. The UK is currently down 0.22%, Germany is down 0.75% and France is down 0.68%.

Commodities are mostly down this morning. Oil is down 1.07%, natural gas is up 1.89% and gold is down 0.25%. Unleaded gas is down 0.21% and heating oil is down 0.13%. Metals are down. Meat is down. Cocoa is up while coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are down.

Wall Street set to open flat, focus on Fed speakers. European shares slide as Fiat leads automaker decline, oil falls. China stocks end up but bearish trend seen persisting.

Tomorrow morning, look out for earnings from Toll Brothers Inc. (TOL), Best Buy Co. (BBY), AutoZone, Inc (AZO) and Kirkland's, Inc. (KIRK).

AAPL had a strong bounce of a week, gaining back 5.19% on relatively high volume. On Monday, AAPL seemed to break the chains and rise up on news that Buffet had added a stake, taking AAPL from 90 to 94. On Tuesday, AAPL strength peaked near mid-94 and later slipped to the low-93 area. On Wednesday, AAPL the yo-yo swung higher to cross 95 and then back down to 94, ending mid-94. On Thursday, AAPL floated just below 94 for most of the day and perked up above 94 at the close. On Friday, AAPL gained 1.08% on relatively low volume. AAPL opened at 94.70 to relatively high volume and quickly set an intra-day low of 94.52 on high volume before regaining 95 after 10am and going on to peak at 95.43 near 1pm on moderately low volume before slipping back to the low-95 area on moderate volume later in the afternoon. AAPL looked a bit upbeat right into the close and ended the day up 1.02 at 95.22. AAPL gave back 9 cents in after-hours to 95.13.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up above 95 following a Taiwn media report on upbeat iPhone 7 supplier numbers and then peaked above 96 to a high of 96.19 later in the morning before slipping back towards upper-95. AAPL is currently up 50 cents at 95.72 as we approach the open.


Classic max-pain is 94.5.
