Apple Today - 6/23/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 38 with +36 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 17 with +17 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 143 on another busy day of economic data and the day of the Brexit vote, of which results should trickle in this evening. Futures were up strong earlier this morning and got a further boost just after 5am before settling slightly as we await the open, yet still relatively near the highs.

Asian markets ended up. China gained 0.47%, Hong Kong increased 0.35% and Japan went up 1.07%. European markets are up today. The UK is up 1.14%, Germany is up 1.67% and France is up 1.70%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 1.53%, natural gas is down 0.52% and gold is down 0.22%. Unleaded gas is up 0.84% and heating oil is up 1.00%. Metals are mixed. Meat is mixed. Cocoa, coffee, cotton and wheat are up while corn and soybeans are down.

Red Hat, Inc. (RHT) reported Q1 earnings yesterday afternoon with acquisition plans and is down nearly 6.5% in pre-market. Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (BBBY) announced Q1 earnings that missed expectations and is down over 3.5%. On the other hand, Herman Miller, Inc. (MLHR) reported a profitable Q4 earnings yesterday afternoon and is up nearly 6%.

BlackBerry Ltd. (BBRY) reported Q1 earnings this morning with a lower than expected loss and is up nearly 3% in pre-market. Accenture plc (ACN) also announced Q3 earnings this morning and is up slightly.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Sonic Corp. (SONC).

Tomorrow morning, The Finish Line, Inc. (FINL) is expected to report.

The AAPL flame danced up yesterday morning but then flickered in the afternoon, still ending up 0.38% on relatively low volume. AAPL opened up strong at 96.27 on good volume, then made an optimistic dash towards 97 twice but only got as far as 96.89 at 9:42am on moderate volume before weakening into lunchtime. AAPL quickly fizzled to an intra-day low of 95.35 by 1:26pm on relatively low volume and then bounced only to struggle in the upper 95 area and dip toward the lows and closed the day down 36 cents at 95.55. AAPL gained 31 cents back in after-hours to 95.86.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up in conjunction with green Futures and made a dash above 96.5 before settling closer to 96. AAPL is currently up 49 cents at 96.04 as we approach the open.
