Apple Today - 6/28/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 43 with +31 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 20 with +13 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 183 as we finally get some relief on this busy Tuesday of economic data. Futures were up significantly earlier and peaked even further after 4am before settling back slightly but are still up strong and close to the highs as we await the open.

Asian markets ended mixed. China gained 0.58%, Hong Kong dropped 0.27% and Japan went up 0.09%. European markets are in rally mode today. The UK is up 2.58%, Germany is up 2.34% and France is leading the rally, up 2.71%.

Commodities are mostly up this morning. Oil is up 2.59%, natural gas is up 2.47% and gold is down 0.85%. Unleaded gas is up 2.21% and heating oil is up 2.10%. Metals are down except copper. Meat is mixed. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are all up strong.

Global stocks, sterling fight back after Brexit beating. Q1 US economic growth exceeds previous estimate.

NovaGold Resources, Inc (NG) reported Q2 earnings yesterday afternoon with a loss and is down over 1.5% in pre-market.

On the other hand, Carnival Corporation (CCL) announced Q2 earnings this morning and is up nearly 1%.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Nike Inc. (NKE).

Tomorrow morning, General Mills, Inc. (GIS) and Monsanto Company (MON) are expected to report.

AAPL had a rough Brexit hangover day yesterday, falling sharply but eventually showing signs of rebuilding and limiting losses to 1.46% on heavy volume. AAPL opened down 93.01 to high volume, instantly setting an intra-day high of 93.05 on high volume before getting knocked down hard to 92 on high volume. AAPL subsequently struggled in the 92-area into early afternoon before toppling down to an intra-day low of 91.50 at 3:24pm on moderate volume. Then, at 3:30pm AAPL shot up above 92 in a surge of rebuilding and ended the day down 1.36 at 92.04. AAPL dropped 2 more cents in after-hours.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up strong in conjunction with Futures and gave a welcome return hug to the 93 line. While bouncing around 93, AAPL reached as high as 93.33 and is currently up 1.06 at 93.10 as we approach the open.


Classic max-pain is 95.
