Apple Today - 7/13/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 7 with +7 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 2 with +2 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 9 on this Wednesday as the earnings season picks up on another full day of economic data. Futures were slightly down in early morning but picked up after 2:30am and turned green shortly afterwards and are near the highs, though still relatively flat, as we await the open.

Asian markets ended up. China gained 0.37%, Hong Kong went up 0.46% and Japan led the advance, up 0.84%. European markets are up. The UK is up 0.08%, Germany is up 0.17% and France is leading the advance, up 0.49%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 1.09%, natural gas is up 1.61% and gold is up 0.44%. Unleaded gas is down 1.66% and heating oil is down 1.69%. Metals are up. Meat is mixed. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are all up.

Stocks climb with copper as Brexit-induced volatility subsides. Low interest rates, Brexit to pressure large banks' earnings. Malaysia unexpectedly cuts rate to shield growth as risks mount.

Burberry Group Plc ADR (BURBY) reported Q1 earnings with mixed results, boosted by weak pound in a "challenging" market.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM) and CSX Corporation (CSX).

Tomorrow morning, Omnicom Group Inc. (OMC), JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM), BlackRock, Inc. (BLK), Delta Air Lines, Inc. (DAL) and First Republic Bank (FRC) are expected to report.


The AAPL pulse continued on yesterday with AAPL gaining another 0.45% on very low volume. AAPL opened up at 97.17 to high volume and quickly set an intra-day low of 97.12 before surging up above 97.5 and peaking at 97.70 less than 15 minutes later at 9:44am on moderate volume. AAPL then dropped back below 97.50 and spent the remainder of the day in an extraordinarily narrow range between 97.25 and 97.5 with 2 small short-lived lower breaches after 3:30pm near the close before recovering. AAPL ended the day up 44 cents at 97.42 and dropped 1 cent in after-hours to 97.41.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up higher, hitting a pre-market peak of 97.89 at 6:27am on low volume before fading to the mid-97 area. AAPL is currently up 16 cents at 97.58 as we approach the open.
