Good Morning,

S&P Futures are flat with -4 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are up 1 with -9 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 11 as we hit an action-packed Thursday with the ECBs decision to decrease the scale of its bond purchases while extending the program through December 2017. Futures were flat in early morning and while showing some volatility through the morning have managed to stay relatively flat as we approach the open.

The economic calendar has some key data on-deck this morning including Jobless Claims, Consumer Comfort Index and Natural Gas Inventory and the Fed Balance Sheet and Money Supply will be reporting this afternoon.

The earnings winners are Lululemon Athletica Inc. (LULU), up over 15.5%, Tailored Brands, Inc (TLRD), up over 24%, H&R Block Inc., up over 5% and Ciena Corporation (CIEN), up over 3% while earnings stinkers are United Natural Foods, down nearly 4.5% and Sears Holdings Corporation (SHLD), down nearly 3.5%.

Asian markets ended mostly up. China went down 0.21%, Hong Kong went up 0.27% and Japan gained 1.45%. European markets are also up. The UK is up 0.25%, France is up 0.48%, and Germany is leading the advance, up 1.24%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 0.68%, natural gas is up 0.80% and gold is down 0.33%. Unleaded gas is down 0.35% and heating oil is down 0.02%. Metals are mixed, gold and silver are down while copper and platinum are up. Meats are mixed. Cotton and wheat are up while cocoa, coffee, corn and soybeans are down.

S&P 500, Dow set records as telecom, tech stocks rally. ECB to scale back asset buys as it extends to end in 2017. US jobless claims drop from 5-month high.

Costco Wholesale Corporation (COST) reported Q1 with adjusted earnings of $1.17 per share that missed expectations and is up over 1.5% in pre-market. Lululemon Athletica Inc. (LULU) announced Q3 results that beat expectations and raised outlook and is up over 15.5%. H&R Block Inc. (HRB) is up over 5% after reporting an adjusted Q2 loss of 67 cents per share. United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) reported Q1 results with net income of 58 cents per share and is down nearly 4.5%.

Ciena Corporation (CIEN) reported Q4 results with adjusted earnings of 44 cents per share that missed results and is up over 3% in pre-market. Tailored Brands, Inc (TLRD) announced adjusted Q3 earnings of 68 cents per share and is up over 24%. Sears Holdings Corporation (SHLD) is down nearly 3.5% after reporting a Q3 loss for the 5th straight quarter, missing expectations.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Broadcom Limited (AVGO), Finisar Corporation (FNSR) and Restoration Hardware (RH).

AAPL coat-tailed up in a hot, erupting market yesterday ending up 0.98% on very low volume. AAPL opened at 109.25 to high volume and immediately set an intra-day low of 109.16 on high volume before soaring up to 110 on mild volume, then taking a short breather before lunch before launching up to 111 throughout the afternoon on low volume in conjunction with a fiery hot market, peaking at 111.19 at 3:28pm on moderate volume. AAPL ended the day up 1.08 at 111.03 and dropped 18 cents to 110.85 after-hours.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower and then topped at 111.03 before dipping to a low of 110.50 later in the morning on little news. AAPL subsequently bounced back into the upper-110 area and is currently down 10 cents at 110.93 as we approach the open.


Classic max-pain is 110.
