Good Morning,

S&P Futures are down 6 with -7 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are down 14 with -15 Fair Value and Dow Futures are down 55 on this exceptionally busy first Thursday in February, packed with earnings and economic data.

This morning's Economic Calendar includes: Chain Store Sales, Challenger Job-Cut Report, Initial Jobless Claims, Productivity and Costs, Gallup Good Jobs Rate, Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index, EIA Natural Gas Inventory followed by Fed Balance Sheet and Money Supply this afternoon.

The earnings winners are Tractor Supply Company (TSCO), up nearly 5.5% and Ferrari N.V. (RACE), up over 4.5%. On the other hand, Shutterfly, Inc. (SFLY) is down nearly 18%, Cirrus Logic, Inc. (CRUS) is down over 11.5% and Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation (RL) is down over 10.5%.

Futures were down sharply in early morning and while still down have recovered somewhat as we approach the open.

Asian markets ended down sharply. China was closed for Chinese New Year, Hong Kong went down 0.57%, and Japan dropped 1.22%. European markets are mixed. The UK is up 0.69%, Germany is down 0.13% and France is up 0.09%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 0.26%, natural gas is down 0.98% and gold is up 1.35%. Unleaded gas is down 0.34% and heating oil is up 0.45%. Metals are up except copper. Meats are down. Coffee, cotton and soybeans are up while cocoa, corn and wheat are down.

US productivity slows in 4th quarter. Filings for US jobless benefits fell to 246,000 last week.

Facebook (FB) reported Q4 results yesterday afternoon that beat expectations and is up over 0.5% in pre-market. NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) is up slightly after announcing Q4 adjusted earnings of $1.95 per share, beating expectations. Cirrus Logic, Inc. (CRUS) reported Q3 results with adjusted earnings of $1.87 per share that beat expectations and is down over 11.5%. Symantec Corporation (SYMC) announced Q3 results with adjusted earnings of 32 cents per share that exceeded expectations and is down over 1.5%. Tractor Supply Company (TSCO) reported Q4 results with net income of 94 cents per share that beat expectations and is up nearly 5.5%. Edwards Lifesciences Corp (EW) announced Q4 results with adjusted earnings of 75 cents per share that topped expectations and is down over 5.5%. Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (AMP) is down over 0.5% after reporting Q4 results with adjusted earnings of $2.73 per share that beat expectations. Shutterfly, Inc. (SFLY) is down nearly 18% after announcing a Q4 revenue miss and profit of $2.63 per share. MetLife, Inc. (MET) reported a Q4 loss with adjusted earnings of $1.35 per share that beat expectations and is down over 4%. Legg Mason Inc. (LM) announced Q3 results with net income of 50 cents per share that missed expectations and is down nearly 1.5%.

International Paper Co. (IP) reported Q4 results this morning with adjusted earnings of 73 cents per share that exceeded expectations and is up nearly 2% in pre-market. Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (SIRI) announced Q4 results with net income of 4 cents per share that met expectations and is up nearly 1.5%. Merck & Co Inc. (MRK) reported Q4 results with mixed results and is down over 0.5%. CME Group Inc. (CME) announced Q4 results with adjusted earnings of 1.14 per share that exceeded expectations and is up 0.5%. The Estee Lauder Companies Inc. (EL) is up nearly 1.5% after reporting Q2 results with adjusted earnings of $1.22 per share that topped expectations. Boston Scientific Corporation (BSX) announced Q4 results that beat expectations and is up over 1%. Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation (RL) is down nearly 8% after reported Q3 results with adjusted earnings of $1.86 per share that beat expectations. AstraZeneca Group plc (AZN) announced Q4 results with adjusted earnings of $1.21 per share that and is down over 2.5%. Deutsche Bank AG (DB) is down over 4.5% after reporting a Q4 loss. New York Times Co. (NYT) reported a profitable Q4 with adjusted earnings of 30 cents per share and is up nearly 1.5%. Ferrari N.V. (RACE) is up over 4.5% after announcing Q4 results that beat expectations.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from athenahealth, Inc. (ATHN), Deckers Outdoor Corporation (DECK), DeVry Education Group Inc. (DV), Callaway Golf Company (ELY), Hanesbrands Inc. (HBI), Mettler Toledo International Inc. (MTD), Pixelworks, Inc. (PXLW), Mad Catz Interactive, Inc (MCZ), FireEye, Inc. (FEYE), Motorola Solutions, Inc. (MSI), Visa Inc. (V), Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (CMG), Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (CY) and Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN).

Tomorrow morning before the open, The Hershey Company (HSY), Phillips 66 (PSX), The Clorox Company (CLX) and The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) are expected to report.

A leading bullish AMZN trade strategy is: When the 8 SMA is Above the 27 EMA AND the 13 EMA is Above the 27 EMA, daily bars.

AAPL zoomed through mid-120 waters in turbo mode after reporting Q1 results, peaking above 130 and ending up 6.10% on stunning volume. AAPL opened up at 127.10 to extremely high volume and immediately put in an intra-day low of 127.01 before soaring up nearly all day on high volume, cresting at a terrific 130.49 at 3:14pm. AAPL subsequently dipped into the close on continued high volume and ended the day up an eye-popping $7.40 at 128.75 and then gained 14 more cents in after-hours to 128.89.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower in conjunction with Futures and hovered just under the 128.5 line amid buzz of Apple designing new custom chips. AAPL is currently down 44 cents at 128.31 as we approach the open.
