Apple Today - 09/10/2015 (AAPL)

seymour_greenz • September 10th 2015 09:29:03 AM

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 12 points with -10 Fair Value, Dow Futures are down 60. Futures started off red and had climbed into fairly positive territory this morning only to slip into neutral shortly after pre-market began. While Asian markets closed down as much as 2% and European markets are taking a hit, volatility seems to be dissipating slightly. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (KKD) reported an earnings miss yesterday after market close and crushed down over 17%. On the other hand, Palo Alto Networks (PANW) is up nearly 5% on a quarterly beat. Lululemon (LULU) reported this morning and is down 8%. Weekly jobless claims data shows claims have fallen.

Yesterday, Apple put on a good show unveiling a new lineup of products, including two new iPhones with 3D Touch, a stunning new iPad Pro with an optional stylus and keyboard, a new Apple TV entertainment hub with voice recognition by Siri and videogame and app capabilities, including a controller that doubles as a touchscreen and Wii-type remote. Apple Watch was also updated. AAPL stock opened up higher yesterday, nearing 114 before dropping down to the 112-area before the event. During the event, AAPL reached a peak of 114.02 on high volume in the iPad Pro announcement before selling on the news and spent the rest of the event struggling to remain green, eventually slipping below 111 on high volume towards the end of the event. The broader market certainly wasn't helping. After the event, AAPL and the overall market continued to drop significantly, with AAPL briefly breaking 110 and ending the intra-day at 110.15. AAPL continued to weaken in after-hours, giving up an additional quarter to end the session at 109.95, though it should be noted that there were many large after-hours purchases.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up at 110.69 at 4:02am on low volume and reached a peak of 111.5 at 6:06am on relatively high volume. Since, AAPL has slipped back down to the 110-area with a low of 109.78 at 8:18am on relatively high volume. AAPL is currently up 5 cents at 110.20.

Classic max-pain is 111.
