Apple Today - 09/11/2015 OPEX (AAPL)

seymour_greenz • September 11th 2015 09:26:52 AM

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 26 points, Dow Futures are down 66. Asian markets closed higher as global stocks appear to be set for a gain this week. Oil is down nearly 2%, looking to erase much of yesterday's gains. On the other hand, mortgage rates edge up to 3.9% and Restoration Hardware (RH) appears to have impressed with its report after the bell yesterday. Kroger (KR) reported this morning and is up 7%. Wholesale prices hold steady.

Yesterday, AAPL recovered quite a bit of territory lost during the "sell on the news" at Wednesday's event. Opening slightly higher at 110.34, AAPL saw a brief spike into red, breaking 110 to 109.9, at 9:36am on relatively high volume. Immediately after that, AAPL shot up to 111.51 at 9:42am (5 mins later) on high volume, and then saw a small technical retracement to 110.78 within 20 minutes on moderate volume. Subsequently, AAPL continued marching up for the rest of the day and didn't look back, reaching a high of 113.28 at 1:38pm on moderately high volume. Settling back a little in late afternoon trading, AAPL bounced at 3:42 just under 112 and closed the intra-day session at 112.57. After-hours was uneventful with AAPL staying in a narrow range and ending the session down a dime.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up at lower at 112.26 at 4:02am on low volume and has been hanging around 112 with a dip to 111.75 at 5:40am on low volume and again at 7:04am on higher volume. Afterwards, AAPL regained some steam and took back 112 with a pre-market peak of 112.36 at 8:22am on relatively high volume. AAPL is currently down 78 cents at 111.79.

Classic max-pain is now 112, up from yesterday. Today is OPEX.
